Belina's Ulans Officer 1915 - Ltn. Boleslaw Wieniawa-Dlugoszowski. White metal unassembled unpainted figure scale 54mm. Contains lead. For adult collectors over 14 years old.
Sculpted by Marcin Kazmierczak, Painted by Wojciech Bulhak
The figurine presents Second Lieutenant of cavalry of the 1st Brigade of Legions. It takes the picture of Boleslaw Wieniawa-Dlugoszowski as his model. The picture is from the beginning of 1915 when the Brigade was having a rest after hard fighting against the Russians in the Carpathians. Wieniawa was promoted to the Second Lieutenant in December 1914 and then in 1915 when the new model of the uniform and the cap was in-troduced.
The uniform was the mixture of both the Polish and Austrian uniform elements of the cavalrymen. The 1914-15 uniform was designed by Stefan Felsztynski the painter and member of Belina's squad. The colour references of the uniform is partly based on the one exhibited in the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw. The exhibit is of the mixed early and later type.

Notes for builder of JMD Miniatures figure "Officier de Uhlan Polonais 1916"
Overall very good and historically correct figure. Good for late 1915 to 1917 Legions Uhlan model. It is about 65mm scale one.
Uniform colors - see our instruction colour photos of Sgt. Sieroszewski pelzulanka for reference. Cap - pike grey. Collar patches - crimson with silver lace detail. Sleeve detail in figure is different from photos in our instruction, but it is later variantion and no need a change.
Note that officers sash, sabre belt and sabre knot are silver lace with red stripes. It was traditional Polish officers insignia since XVIII century. JMD instruction incorrectly shows sabre belts and sabre knot in Austrian gold lace with black stripes.
