HISTORY

The wz. 34 armoured car was developed as a modification of the wz. 28 half-track vehicle. The tracked wheels were replaced with wheels with tyres. This allowed simpler maintenance and improved the reliability of the driving mechanism without major deterioration of the off-road capability. 10 squadrons of armoured cars (some 80 vehicles) were mobilised in September 1939. In the first days of fighting the cars were used for reconnaissance and support. Despite great superiority of the German equipment, Polish crews achieved success thanks to bravery and using the element of surprise.
