Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 fighters arrived to Finland in Spring 1943. Originally painted with German markings and camouflage RLM 74/75/76. German insignias and Stammkennzeichen were over painted with German paint supplied with aircraft. Finnish “Hakaristi” blue Swastikas and aircraft serials in Black were then applied. During service Finnish BF-109 were repainted to Finnish Warpaint Olive Green/Black/Blue Grey (FS34096/37038/35414). Insignia background circle color was changed on 12th January 1944 to blue grey FS25414. Please note, that it was satin color that differs slightly from undersides matt Blue Grey FS35414. In units White circles were over painted with any available Blue Grey.
